The Beginning

How Timber Brew Came to Life

The original Timber Brew log cabin coffee shop nestled among tall pines

In the autumn of 2012, siblings Eleanor & Jasper Holloway inherited their grandfather's abandoned logging cabin deep in the Cascade foothills. Instead of selling the land, they saw an opportunity β€” a place where the warmth of woodsmoke and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee could bring people together.

With salvaged timber beams, a refurbished 1950s Probat roaster, and recipes passed down through three generations, Timber Brew was born. The first batch of our signature Smoked Cedar Latte was served on a rainy November morning to a handful of curious neighbors. Word spread quickly.

Today, Timber Brew has grown into a thriving community hub β€” but our roots remain firmly planted in those same values: craftsmanship, sustainability, and genuine hospitality. Every beam, every cup, every conversation still carries the spirit of that little log cabin.

Our Journey Through the Years

2012

The Cabin Discovery

Eleanor and Jasper discover their grandfather's logging cabin. The idea for Timber Brew is sparked over a campfire and a pot of cowboy coffee.

2013

First Doors Open

After months of restoration, Timber Brew opens with just four tables, a single roaster, and a dream. The Smoked Cedar Latte debuts.

2015

Roastery Expansion

Demand outgrows the cabin. A dedicated roastery is built using reclaimed barn wood, tripling our small-batch production capacity.

2018

Community Hub

We launch weekly open-mic nights, woodworking workshops, and our "Brew & Learn" barista training program for local youth.

2021

Sustainability Pledge

Timber Brew becomes 100% carbon-neutral, partners with reforestation projects, and switches to fully compostable packaging.

2024

Award Recognition

Named "Best Artisan Coffee Experience" by the Pacific Northwest Coffee Guild. Our family continues to grow β€” and so does our craft.

What We Stand For

Our Philosophy

🌿

Sustainability First

From compostable cups to direct-trade partnerships, every decision honors the land that gives us coffee. We're committed to leaving the forest better than we found it.

πŸͺ΅

Handcrafted Integrity

No shortcuts. Our beans are roasted in small batches, our syrups are made in-house, and our furniture is built by Jasper's own hands. Craft is our compass.

🀝

Community Roots

Timber Brew is more than a coffee shop β€” it's a living room for the neighborhood. We host gatherings, support local artists, and believe the best brews are shared.

β˜•

Quality Without Compromise

We source only specialty-grade, ethically grown beans and roast them to highlight their unique terroir. Every cup tells a story of origin and care.

πŸ“š

Education & Empowerment

Our "Brew & Learn" program trains aspiring baristas from underserved communities, creating pathways to meaningful careers in specialty coffee.

🌲

Forest Stewardship

We donate 2% of every sale to reforestation efforts in the Pacific Northwest. Over 18,000 trees planted and counting β€” because coffee grows better with trees.
